Arts Council Awards
Each year, the Boston College Arts Council recognizes alumni, faculty members, and students for their accomplishments and contributions to the arts in various disciplines. Alumni and faculty award recipients serve as role models, inspiring and guiding developing young artists in the 亚色影库 community.
2026 Alumni Arts Award Winners
Anthony Nunziata '06 and Will Nunziata '06
Anthony Nunziata '06
Dubbed "America's new romantic singing sensation," classical-crossover tenor Anthony Nunziata is the Brooklyn-born, Nashville-based singer, songwriter, actor and entertainer who brings his soulful voice to classic jazz, pop standards, Italian arias and his timeless original music. He has a deep passion for The Great American Songbook, Italian arias, and sharing his genre-bending original songs through his recordings and live concert appearances.听He has performed over 400 concerts over the past decade headlining major performing arts centers, theaters, symphony concert halls, jazz clubs and private events across the country and around the world.听Anthony recently headlined a sold-out debut at the legendary Caf茅 Carlyle听in New York City. He has been invited to be a headline soloist for over two dozen symphony orchestras around the world, including听co-headlining听Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops Symphony Orchestra.听
Anthony is the co-creator and host of the brand new musical children鈥檚 series 鈥淢r. Anthony & Friends鈥 set to premiere in September 2026. Anthony is most proud of his "ARTS MATTER!" Educational Outreach Initiative and Master Class Workshops that educate and inspire students to fearlessly pursue their passions. Anthony studied journalism, music, acting and directing at Boston College, and trained in improv comedy at the famed Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City.听
Will Nunziata '06
Will Nunziata is a New York City-based award-winning filmmaker, theatre director, and writer.听Will's directorial short film debut,听The Old Guitarist, starring Dominic Chianese (Uncle Junior in听The Sopranos), has garnered over a dozen national and international awards, including Best Short Film and Best Director at the London Movie Awards, Best First Time Director of a Short at the New York Movie Awards, and Best First Time Director of a Short at the Paris Film Awards.听
On the stage, Will has directed productions on both sides of the Atlantic. He made his West End debut in 2025, directing at the prestigious London Palladium. Off-Broadway directing credits include听Over Here!听starring Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte,听White Rose: The Musical, and听Miss Peggy Lee: In Her Own Words & Music听which earned him a BroadwayWorld Award for Best Director.
Will has written and directed dozens of concert productions for acclaimed artists. For twenty years, he performed professionally alongside his twin brother, singer-songwriter Anthony Nunziata, touring nationally and internationally, with their partnership culminating in co-headlining Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops Symphony Orchestra.鈥 A proud graduate of Boston College, Will is a member of the Recording Academy/GRAMMYs and the Stage Directors & Choreographers Union (SDC).

The J. Robert Barth, S.J., Award for Excellence in the Arts
The Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences has established an annual award in honor of former Dean J. Robert Barth, S.J., and his support for the arts. The J. Robert Barth, S.J., Award for Excellence in the Arts is given each year at Commencement to a senior who has made an outstanding contribution to Boston College in the fine or performing arts, such as music, theater, dance, film or other visual media throughout their college career.
Fr. Barth is credited with revitalizing the arts at Boston College. He first came to the University as the Thomas I. Gasson Professor in 1985. As dean, he established the Music and Theatre departments, oversaw the opening of the McMullen Museum of Art, and was the first chair of the Boston College Arts Council.

Arts Awards Nomination Criteria
The Boston College Arts Council recognizes alumni who have achieved a level of distinction in their artistic professions. Candidates must be working professionals in the performing, visual, or literary arts, or related disciplines. Candidates should have received public recognition for outstanding contributions to their art form.
Nomination Process
Members of the Boston College community may nominate alumni for recognition, including faculty, staff, and alumni.听This nomination process is a rolling submission, and candidates can be nominated throughout the year.听The Awards subcommittee of the Arts Council will consider, evaluate, and select the award recipient.
The Boston College Arts Council recognizes faculty who have made an outstanding contribution to the arts at Boston College through scholarship, the presentation of artistic work, teaching, and/or community engagement.
- Candidates can be full or part time faculty and University staff/administrators.
- Candidates may receive the award only once for an ongoing contribution.
Nomination Process
Members of the Boston College community may nominate alumni for recognition, including faculty, staff, and alumni.听This nomination process is a rolling submission, and candidates can be nominated throughout the year.听The Awards subcommittee of the Arts Council will consider, evaluate, and select the award recipient.
The Boston College Arts Council recognizes students who have made an outstanding contribution to the arts by fostering, expanding or participating in the arts on campus or in the community.听
- Candidates become eligible in their junior year.
- Candidates may receive the award only once for an ongoing contribution.
- Student Arts Groups are also eligible for the award.
- Student Arts Groups may receive the award only once every 5 years.
Nomination Process
Nominators may be faculty or staff and should have some direct connection or supervisory role with the student being nominated.听
The Student Award nominations process begins in December and closes in mid-February. The Awards subcommittee of the Arts Council will consider, evaluate, and select the award recipient. Award recipients will be announced before the Annual Boston College Arts Festival.
